What's next for Learn Bamum
A return to regular updates, beginning with the dictionary.
It has been a while since our last update, and the Learn Bamum team is getting back to work on the website. We will be making improvements and adding more ways to learn and use Bamum. Our next focus is preparing the official Bamum dictionary section, so you can look up words and find their written forms more easily.
The dictionary will grow alongside the Bamum Bible Project. Using the Bamum version of the Bible, we will work through the text to connect words with their meanings and the Bamum script. This will give us a starting point for building the dictionary, with entries added as the work progresses.
That work will also support the Bamum keyboard. As we add more words and definitions, we can expand what the keyboard recognizes and make it more useful for everyday writing. The aim is to help you write messages, notes, and other things you want to share in Bamum.
Once the dictionary is ready, we will turn our attention to free courses. These will help you move from recognizing words and script to using them in everyday situations. We look forward to sharing this work with you, one update at a time.
